Looking through Nordstrom’s, Bloomies, and Saks “What’s New” for this season, I am realizing more and more how picky I am with fashion. Just by looking at a picture online, or holding up an item in a store, I know what I will like, what will fit on my body, and what things I can put together. I don’t even have to give things a double look. Based upon my fashion sense, I have come to the conclusion that my style can be put into the category of classy, jappy, Hippie Chic Fashion. A few things that I am definitely not a fan of, is anything that is too straight and doesn’t either look flowy or oversized, and I’m not liking anything to frilly, showy or overdone. Other than oversized shirts, I usually like that items hug the body. I am liking the usual colors- earth tones, olive green, khaki, white, black, brown and as for bottoms, neutrals like jean or black leggings. I am also seeing a lot of straight leg, yet relaxed, khaki and earth tone crop pants that I really like- similar amougst brands such as Rich and Skinny, J Brand Jeans, Sanctuary, True Religion, etc.
Just going through the Nordstrom lookbook, I wanted to post a few of the items that I like the most. I am not using this as a label, but I think of my fashion style as “hippie chic”. Hippie Chic Fashion may mean something different to me, but when I see a fashionable JAP, and how I find myself dressing, is very designer, classy, hippie chic. I’m not sure if it’s the over sized, the vintage flair, or a combination of all of that. As for accessories, I am staying with my usual, mixing gold and silver, layering necklaces and wearing my small om, and lots of gold bangles with some play jewelry like my evil eye, and a recent yoga bracelet I got. Would you consider myself of Hippie Chic Fashion? Let me know what you think in a comment. Don’t forget about my giveaway!

Evening Outfits can be tricky… I always feels stumped when I am looking for evening outfits in my closet. Dresses are too fancy, jeans feel too casual- stop there because I have put together 3 awesome outfits that are classy, fun, flirty, and the perfect amount of casual for an evening out. Whether you are going to a beach resort, or cutting edge restaurant for dinner this summer, you can create the perfect rendition of these simple outfits below to create YOUR perfect evening outfit.
I am not afraid of black in the summer, sometimes it is the best color for evening outfits. As long as you brighten it up with a vibrant and flashy item, such as this adorable Alice and Olivia Leila Snap Trim Tank Dress (Nordstrom, $230), you cannot go wrong! Pairing this vibrant color with so much pizzazz, to these Vince Second Skin Stretch Jeans (Nordstrom $195), really calls for the right amount of contrast. The Vera Wang Lavender Label Gabriella Sandal (Nordstrom, $425) , adds a whole new dimension to the outfit, making it evening-certified. Remember, this outfit is now your canvas to add accessories to. I would imagine a very simple necklace with a central placed stud. Along with silver bangles and a silver hand-bag or clutch. With this look, I would wear my hair slicked back into a bun.
White pants have been calling my name this summer. I love the color because it uplifts your spirit, and puts a smile on your whole appearance. White pants really make you stand out and bring out your femininity, and they are a great start to beautiful evening outfits. I paired these Seven For All Mankind Straight Leg Pants in Clean White (Zappos, $165) with a frilly and beige Gabriella Rocha Portland Top (Zappos, $77). Instead of heels, this outfit is laid back and I love low shoes, so these Boutique 9 Post Caged Sandals (Nordstrom, $119) bottom the outfit off beautifully! Use this look as your canvas to accessorize and have fun! I would stack gold bangles and wear a big white or gold watch, and let me hair loose.
This evening look brings a little bit of linen, denim, and trend to evening outfits. I used these Nanette Lepore Washed Away Linen Pants (Zappos, $298) as the base of this outfit. I wanted a denim and white look, so I paired these denim-appearing pants with an option of two shirts, depending on you guys to tell me which look you prefer! This Free People Rise and Shine Top (Nordstrom, $108) is a little bit more conservative, but I enjoy it’s flow-y look and detail on the top! This Free People Tea Cloth Strapless Top (Nordstrom, $98) is the sexier option. I enjoy the floral detail on the top and the lace appearance on the bottom. Nude heels have been very popular in summer evening outfits. These BCBGeneration Tina’s Platform Pumps (Exclusive to Nordstrom, $98) add an amazing element to finish off this outfit. I would love to pair this outfit with pearls and gold accessories. Definitely mix and match! I would wear messy hair with this look, and perhaps a headband or head-wrap.
